Updated: 14 April 2021

The AISC has released the agenda for its next meeting, being held on the 20 April 2021. Point 10 on the agenda states Case for Endorsement: Resubmission of the CHC Community Services – Children’s Education and Care – 2 qualifications. Stay tuned for more information!

However, since the last AISC meeting, SkillsIQ has released the final ECE Units of Competency and ECE Unit Mapping Tables on their website.

The final draft of the ECEC units of competency include some changes at both Certificate III and Diploma level, from the previous draft. We are busy working with One World for Children to update our new ECEC resources to ensure the resources meet the requirements of the new ECEC qualifications (once they are all endorsed).

Updated: 3 March 2021

At the 23 February AISC meeting, the Case for Endorsement for six Children's Education and Care qualifications was presented to the committee. Of the six, four qualifications were approved 'in-principle':

  • CHC30121 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care
  • CHC50221 Diploma of School Age Education and Care
  • CHC30221 Certificate III in School Based Education Support
  • CHC40221 Certificate IV in School Based Education Support

Two were 'not approved' due to stakeholder concerns.

  • CHC50121 Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care
  • CHC40121 Certificate IV in School Age Education and Care

The AISC will work with the IRC to identify solutions before resubmitting. Full details https://www.aisc.net.au/hub/aisc-communique-%E2%80...

The publication of the four approved qualifications will be delayed until the approval of the two remaining qualifications is completed. No Training Package Products will be uploaded onto training.gov.au until this time.

You still have time to review our 'soon to be released' Early Childhood Education resources at Certificate III and Diploma level. Request a sample now or contact Patricia Robinson or Jenny Asplin for more information.
